Looking for a training on evidence-based public health or health information resources in multiple languages? What about some supplemental funding to promote tobacco prevention or to develop a training on mental health resources for older adults?

The Greater Midwest Regional Office of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine offers free online and in-person trainings on topics related to health information access. Previous trainings have covered evidence-based public health, Healthy People 2020, and capacity building. A full list of scheduled trainings can be found at: https://nnlm.gov/gmr/training/schedule

In addition, the office funds (up to $20,000) organizations that promote equal access to reliable health information resources. Funds can be used to create a new project or supplement an ongoing project with new health information resources from the National Library of Medicine. The National Network of Libraries of Medicine represents a membership-network of over 6,000 libraries, public health departments, community-based non-profits, and other organizations committed to improving the health of their communities through reliable health information. I’d like to extend an invite to all NDPHA members to join the Network (free) as a way to demonstrate a dedication to improving the public’s health and to stay up-to-date on funding opportunities and trainings offered through the Network.

Organizations can sign up to join and learn more about the funding and training opportunities by visiting: https://nnlm.gov/gmr
